I did it again. I choose a book based on the cover and not the reviews. I have recently been watching the show “Call Me Kat.” So in my head, this will be as cute and enduring as the show starring Mayim Bialik. I was wrong! Going on the journey Fawn Birchill, a struggling small business owner in Philadelphia. The book is written in an Episloraty style, with emails, journals, and text messages to capture the events in Fawn’s life. I have to be honest, I hated the main character. Fawn was self-absorbed, jealous, has a sense of entitlement, lived in grandiose fantasies, and was generally mean. Fawn’s moments were caring and concerned to a few specific people, such as her tenants. Honestly, Fawn is cringy. I feel so sorry for everyone that has to deal with Fawn. When the author offers a glimpse that Fawn may not be a horrible person, we as the reader
Would I suggest this book to read or listen to? Not really, I only finished the book because I have to complete books, I start. I only had water while reading this book, because I read it at work and listened to it when I was driving home.
Also, I hate that the Main Character compares herself to an older Kiera Knightly… It always made me frown when she mentions it to others.
I hope you enjoy this review.
