Readers, We Have a problem
*Cue the BEYONCE SONG America, we have a problem*
Does anyone else out there have a colossal Kindle Library/ Google Library/ Public Library of books you had all pure intentions to read? Instead, there are just sitting in your digital library collecting digital dust. Recently, I was trying to decide how to cut back spending, and I was like, ” Oh, stop buying books. I laughed at myself; stop buying books, oh silly Che, you know better. But then I stopped and counted. I have 30 books that I have not cracked open that I paid for with my hard earn money. No offense, I hope the authors got a fair shake of the money, but I need to read these books. So I thought, Che… why not give yourself a 3-month challenge?
Before I purchase another book, I will finish at least 20 books I currently have in my digital and physical library. I went to an event back in September to support a friend that published her first book. I realized I have three physical books that deserve my attention. Also, I realized that I am not properly using my Kindle unlimited by not finishing these books. I pay $10 a month to get books, and there are like 4 books that are a part of Kindle Unlimited, being able to return a book and take a new one out immediately. Technically, Kindle Unlimited is slightly like a library asking for membership for exclusive books. Speaking of which, I want to have reader’s goals for 2023. Sitting here looking at my Kindle library and thinking about the vast amount of knowledge and books in the world, I would like to stretch the books I want to read.
Here are my 2023 reading goals:
- Finish Unfinished books in my Kindle and Google Books.
- Apply for a library card.
- Pick a genre of book I don’t typically read.
- Finish physical books that are next to my bed.
This simple list should keep me on track for at least the first part of 2023. Then, I can finally clean up my Kindle Library, LOL. And buy more books.
Until Next Time,
Che Michelle
P.S. There is this really dope video I wanted to add, but… Unfortunately, I can’t next time.
