This month was a difficult reading month. I only read two books this month. I am sad that it took a month to read a whole book. Well, I lost interest in the book around page 248. It wasn’t an emotionally heavy book, but it felt like the book was slow. I put the book down, did other things in my life, worked out, wrote, and cleaned my house. It’s spring, so you should clean your house. I promise there are items you don’t want sitting in a bin that could be used for something else. I digress.   March was not a heavy book-reading month, and that is ok.   I think April will be a bit more dynamic for reading; it’s starting to warm up, and I can see myself sitting in a park, reading a book with a clear Starbucks cup filled with red wine 😈🍷.

The two books I read in March were Michelle Obama “Becoming” and Madeline Miller “Circe,” which finished on March 31, 2023. Both books were written about women, one Memoir and the other a retelling of the Greek Mythology of the Goddess Circe. You are probably wondering which book emotionally drained me? It was Michelle Obama’s Book, our forever first lady ☹. Here he thing it’s not a bad book. Becoming was an insightful and honest recounting of Michelle Obama’s life from childhood until the final years of President Obama’s tenure as the United States of America’s First Lady. It’s written in clear, concise language. It’s a very Capricorn book.   Circe, I realized once you get past Chapter four, it picks up and goes, and the imagery, dialogue, and emotions are delicious. After reading Becoming, Circe is a great palette cleanser.   Does this mean I didn’t like Becoming? NO, I loved the book. Michelle Obama is a national treasure and the epitome of grace. Michelle Obama is a  well-rounded woman that is honest about her experience as an African American woman in America. Her book is lengthy and has a strong Capricorn vibe. Check out the review when it comes out ( aiming for May).

What lesson have I learned in March?

Well, I am still attempting to read unfinished books on my kindle, by my bed, and on google play. I have a few essays I want to write and publish on the blog. I have a few ideas; I just need to sit down, research, and author. I think March was a friendly reminder that long books 400 pages are more require more mental fortitude. Memoirs can be draining if you don’t connect or invest in the story the author is presenting. But, if you stick with it, you will find gems of knowledge that add value to your life.

I think this is all I have to say about my March Update. Maybe in April, I can do more than 2 books. LOL, if not, that’s fine. This is what Vacations are for reading and wine.

Until Next Time,

Che Michelle

P.S. I finished 2 unfinsihed books off my list! Very 😊 🤗 Excited! Maybe I can buy two new books to read in April.
