Happy Leap Year!
If I did this right, I posted this post on February 29, 2024! I am silly like that, but I wanted to write a post today. I can give you some updates and thoughts about reading this for the following month. Sad update: I cannot interview Jessica Cage at Khromakon 2024. I am uber bummed; I wanted to ask her advice for those who wanted to jumpstart their career. I wanted to ask about her favorite character to write. I wanted to ask her why was one of her characters “Malachi” so annoying. Unfortunately, scheduling conflicts will prevent me from moderating her panel. I told a few people that I was bummed, they gave me the Kanye Shrug, so I realized I was just being overly emotional. I hope the person interviewing her will do a fantastic job and her panel will be a huge hit.
Here are a few interviews I found and listened to:

Reading-wise, Spotify Audiobook options are both tremendous and lacking. It’s Great cause it is included in a premium win for adding more features to a subscription. I have access to books I wanted to read for the last two years. The downside is that I only have 15 hours of listening time unless I purchase an extra 10 hours for $12.99. I might buy an additional 10 hours in March because I want to finish three books I started on the app. I was unable to complete Cruel Seduction due to the time constraints. I saw that Midnight Ruin was available, and I jumped right into Eurydice’s story, forgetting about Aphrodite and Hephaestus’s story. Also, my hopes to cancel Audible fell flat. I forgot, to use my credits and leave Audible behind. It’s $13 a month, and ten months is $130 for access to one book/ a few freebies, or heavily discounted books. Either way, I am trying to break the millennial curse of Avocado toast. If you are wondering, it is the idea that purchases like Avocado toast and subscriptions are killing our budget, not corporate greed and inflation, but I digress.
Reading-wise, I did well; I think I read seven books, 6 of which were Amazon Original short stories, and one was an unread book on my Kindle—the Paid Bridesmaid by Sariah Wilson. The post will be up or is already posted. I am currently reading Blood Like Magic and Midnight Ruin, and I should finish these book by March 9th or 10th. I want March to be my Money-focused month, with at least three books about finances and money. I want to read “The Psychology of Money,” finish Clever Girl Finances, and maybe “Get Good with Money.” I told myself that in 2024, I would get better with money. How? Glad you asked stop spending, through reading and free seminars and asking for professional financial help. What better way to get good with money than to read books about Money and not fiction books about money? With March being Women’s History Month, I think highlighting books written by women would be excellent.
I am still on the mission to clean up my Unread and Unfinished books in 2024 because I want to see more Read books in my Kindle and Google books than I purchased this book and never read. I will try to get my library card cause; again, I need to break out of subscription services and support local libraries. Libraries provide so many exceptional services for the community. Now, unrelated, I have no inspiration to write. I cannot bring myself to draft a story or a poem. I have opened my computer and thought I had a short story or skit. I cannot bring myself to type except this post. LOL, the irony. I want to get back to creative writing.
In conclusion, in Elton John’s Lyrics, “I’m still standing.” There is no Jessica Cage interview/ panel this year, but I never know; I may interview her sooner rather than later. The goal is to read books about money in March, cancel more subscriptions, and get a library card.
Until Next Time,

Che Michelle
