End-of-Month Update

We are at the end of March! This has been a loooonnngg and unexpected month. If you know, you know. If not, let’s have a quick breakdown.

  • The US tries a 2nd TikTok ban, and Nancy Pelosi uses the corny line tic-tok-toe.
  • Diddy properties RAIDED by the Department of Homeland Security for sex trafficking evidence.
  • Beyonce dropped her new project, “Cowboy Carter,” and her version of Jolene SLAPS. Man “
  • The Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed after a shipment tanker hit a key support pillar; 6 lives were lost to this tragic event.
  • A terrorist attack occurred in Russia.
  • Still no Ceasefire (IYKYK)
  • Several reports have said that Corporate Greed is why inflation is uncontrollable.

Yes, the world is on metaphysical fire. During this time, to keep my brain from malfunctioning, I read. How many books have I read for the month? Five and ¾. I am currently finishing one book as I write this post:

-Amelia ‘s Shadow

-The June Paintings

– The Forgotten Chapters

-Fires to Come

-Crying in H Mart

–  A Thousand Recipes for Revenge- as of Friday, 3/29/2024, I am 95% done.

All these books have strong women leads. They all have women who must “Look the man in the Mirror,” the women in the mirror. Queue the Michael Jackson song.  Every woman must dig deep and rise to the occasion; not all occasions are what it seems.  I wanted to read all seven books in the Blaze collection, but “A Thousand Recipes of Revenge” gripped and enticed me to finish this book.  I am not always a fan of reading a book from two different perspectives, but recently, most authors have done a great job blending two narratives into a story.

Overall, it was a good reading month. I finished one book on my unfinished book list, and I am about to finish a book on my wish list. I just kept reading as a daily practice.  Why is it important to keep reading as a daily practice?  At first, it was for the rewards on Kindle, but as I read more, it reminded me why I loved reading so much when I was younger.  I could learn new concepts, understand history, and escape to another world.  Reading daily allows me to have a moment for something I love and reminds me to always make time for myself.

Well, I have nothing else to add.  But keep reading, Keep striving.

Until Next Time,

Che Michelle
