I can’t believe I am saying I have writer’s block or maybe Readers Block for the Blog! Work has increased exponentially over the last three months, and my side hustle has given me more gig opportunities. I have not had any time to read or write. I even lost my Kindle Streak for reading because of work. I believe in scheduling time to read and relax, but sometimes, the books we pick are not captivating enough to read in downtime. Have I hit a wall in my goals for writing and talking about books? The short answer is yes. I know I have hit a wall. I have finished at least three books since September, and not one has made it to a review. They were great books! I would tell my friends about the books and even react to how zany the characters were in the book. Sitting down and typing a little 500-word blog turned into blank documents. Do you know how many blank documents I have? Right now, 54 papers with ten words or less.
I will take this time to pursue other creative interests until I can refocus on talking about books. I have made some merchandise for the blog. I have a printfy store where you can buy the items. It’s nothing super crazy, but it’s cute enough, and I like it. I do have plans for this blog and will keep pursuing those goals. Consistency is one key to success, but adaptability is also crucial.
You came to see what I am currently reading:
I’m currently engrossed in “Somebody’s Wife” by Robbi Renee, a book that is part of the spicy book trend in 2024. I love every page and can’t wait to share my thoughts once finished. I’m particularly intrigued by how Jemma finds herself after all the events. * Update: I finished this book, and the blog is coming soon.*
Another book I’m reading is The Wedding Witch by Erin Sterling, the third and possibly final book in the Graves Glen trilogies. It’s been a slow burn, but the story is finally picking up, and I’m excited to see how the plot unfolds for Bowmen and Tamsyn.
Books I finished:
Who’s That Girl—Eve? I loved this book! It was a quick read, and I enjoyed learning more about the First Lady of Ruff Ryders. I do know not everyone is into Astrology. Still, you can see her Scorpio Sun and Pisces Moon, which allow a glimpse into her life without digging too deep into her personal life. I loved the book; it’s a good read for women who grew up with Eve and always wondered about her adventures.
The Neighbor Favor- I forgot I read this book (how I was on a reading tear but wasn’t writing). It was such a fun book to read, and it was a nice, relaxing Rom-com. I believe in reading fun books; when life is stressful, there is no need to increase your chores. I just found out it’s part of a series about the Green Sisters. I am a sucker for books about sisters (I have a brown Sister review, but I can’t find it).
Books I have stalled out on:
The Djinn Waits a Hundred Years is a long book. It’s a layered story with a slow buildup, and it deserves my patience. I’m starting back up this month.
I’m hopeful that I’ll soon be back to writing. I’m committed to participating in NaNoWriMo every year and aim for a complete novel this time. Whether it turns out to be a novel or not, the important thing is that I’m back in the writing groove, which feels good.
Also, I have merchandise! I am still working on how to market and sell it, but if you are interested, I have a link right here https://che-michelle.printify.me/products.
Until Next Time,
Che Michelle
