Unlock Life Lessons Through Romance Novels

Happy Love Week!

*3 days late*

I am sitting here trying to watch the Super Bowl, and my internet stopped working. I want to blame several petty people ( D****, Xfinity, and so forth), but that is another post for another blog. Also, Go Eagles!!! ย ย I missed an internal deadline and wanted to post a new post every Friday for February; I missed it last Friday, February 7th, 2025. I decided to pivot and will try to publish a blog every day this week until Friday ( I am missing all my deadlines for this blog). I have four blogs ready to go, and I want to write a new blog for โ€œThe Love Lyricโ€ by Kristina Forest. So, my goal is to publish a blog every day this week until I publish all my Romance post. Now, I reserve the right not to publish every day, but I believe that I can publish a blog every day this week.

Have you ever wondered why you should read romance novels? So many people love to read romance novels for escape. You read about romantic love that accepts you as who you are as a person. As I read more, I like romance novels for other lessons. The author discusses grief and finding love after losing a loved one in the latest two books. In addition, some other authors have weaved in topics about boundaries and self-love. It is easier in romance novels for the protagonist to grow into the person they desire, who is gently present and nurturing.  I understand the protagonist should want to be a better person without a love interest. The protagonist needs something to spark the desire to change. It is not always because of the love interest. In the latest book I read, the protagonist decided to change not to appease the lover but because they realized they were living out another person’s dream.

I want to challenge you, the reader, to pick up a romance novel and delve into the secondary plot. Connect with the characters on a deeper level, empathizing with the issues they face. The books I am recommending this week feature secondary plots that are relatable and thought-provoking, such as choosing your happiness, setting boundaries, and confronting your Shadow self to become the person you desire.

As I type this line, The EAGLES won!!!

Until Next Time,

Che Michelle
